  Still Point

When the Rev John Flynn conceived the Royal Flying Doctor Service, his vision was to cast a “mantle of Safety” over the Australian outback.

Stillpoint seeks to cast a ‘mantle of safety’ in the Cottesloe beach precinct at its most alcohol-charged time, straight after the Sunday Session during the summer months.

While police and security are responsible for law and order, there is a vacuum of care for young people who can find themselves disconnected, overwhelmed, or isolated on exiting one of Cottesloe’s drinking establishments.

Still Point provides street pastors who can direct young people to a place to ‘chill out’ and regroup before going home, or in some cases assistance in getting home through either carriage to public transport or telephone communication.

Stillpoint seeks to be good news in an environment where a night out can descend into bad news.

For location and timing go to What's On, and for more information about or to participate in Stillpoint contact our church office.

Members of the Wakimbizi project meet regularly and seek to extend Christian friendship to displaced people. Current projects include:

  • Settling and maintaining support to refugee families in Perth

• Education sponsorship in Sudan
• Community development, infrastructure and small business development in Sudan

Prison Ministry
St Philips people visit Hakea and Casuarina prisons as part of the Prison Chaplaincy visiting programme. This involves regular visits for friendship and worship.
The impact of imprisonment on families is immense and we try and assist by undertaking monthly collections of quality toys and clothes for prisoners’ families.
To find out more about this ministry please contact the church office.
